To get my ID's darned thumbnail off my main page, here's another character from my Toys plot, supposedly one of the main antagonists. He's none other than Della's housemate, the Lab Fred. He'd been the family dog for about two and a half years before Della was introduced, and he's none too happy about the new arrival. He'd been brought up to think of the true dog as being and behaving a certain way, and Della with her diminutive size and sighthound mannerisms (and outline) just doesn't fit the bill to Fred, who looks down on her and takes every opportunity to tell her exactly what he thinks of her. With the members of his human family he is all man's best friend, but when left alone with Della he becomes a cruel tease. Even after her initiation to Peaches' group and becoming more aware of herself and surroundings, Della is still a little afraid of him, having been subject to his derisive treatment of her since puphood, and as yet lacks the courage to stand up to him.
Designwise, I was having trouble getting Fred to look a certain way, and his face kept changing each time I drew him. Not only that, but I couldn't get him to look the way I wanted him to look - the type of face that can look like your stereotypical goofy friendly clownsome Lab one moment and in the next be both smirking and mean-spirited. I finally managed to nail it yesterday, thank goodness.. and have been getting used to drawing him that way. So now here he is, yay. I'm quite happy with his design now actually.
...and my two male characters so far are named Fred and George. Wonderful. That was a completely unconscious decision, I swear.. and it was also a coincidence that Fred's original name was Charlie. >.>
Yeek, he's supposed to be a meanie head D: Did I not get that across? o.O

Ackt...X_x; I get that exact smae problem where my drawins of my characters are different from te next....even though they be the same character. X_x;
But anywayz...<< Through your design, you've pretty much have addressed that this character is mean.
Which is the cool....cuz I could never really get my characters to actually look as if they were some type of characteristic. I...think. XD yay. I actually tried to say somthin more...uh....polite?! XD I...think that's the word I'm lookin for. -shot- X_x;
I love how you portrayed him. I really think you got the look you were going for down. It's like the perfect look for an antagonist, really, in my opinion.
We've got an old fart of a lab mix named Charlie. (I'm serious about the old fart part, he's 11 and showing it.) He's the sweetest dog, but when it comes to other dogs he has a very dominant personality. He raises his head and tail, looks down upon the other dog and growls sharply. The change is quite remarkable, especially when you watch him play with the puppy. He's always so gentle with him like he's saying "I know you're bigger and younger then me, so I'm just gonna stand here and take it." Ebon will sometimes pin him down, but then he'll just lay there with his tail wagging while Ebon chews on his neck fur.
My puppy's a lab and he doesn't look much like your average lab. Aka: stocky with a block head and thick otter-tail. He's built like a pointer, actually. Really long and lean with big, floppy ears and a thin tail. His lines are pretty much all about hunting. His mother's a trained duck dog and he went water retrieving with her when he was little. They suggested we trained him to be like his mom. He knows how to retrieve, but I think we're not going to take it further.
