If you haven't yet seen Ouran and plan to, you might want to skip the description ahead. At least until you've watched the first ep.
...And last but not least, our longsuffering heroine ^^ I love so much that she's not your generic shoujo character.
Loosely speaking, Haruhi is a Heinz with a good haircut (courtesy of the Host Club, of course
). Her dad is a mostly-chocolate-lab-but-with-traces-of-setter, and her mum was a minipoodle-setter-one-of-those-longlegged-smoothcoated-terriers thing. (Poodle and terrier for smarts and determination, and setter for straight silky fur. And daddy is mostly Lab because a) the colour works, and b) he supposedly reminds her of.. well, other daddy. 
)
This was fun! (I think some group pictures are in order.) If anyone wants to see any of the other characters doggified (or has suggestions for breeds, that would be nice), don't hesitate to let me know xD

I can't comment on the similarity of Ouran to Furuba, as I haven't seen that one myself
