Companion illustration to the story that *WhiskerWing and I wrote for our Hyksis - my Alder, and her Meadowsweet and Dandelion. I was going for an oldschool 'cel/frame from an animated movie' effect here, just because I absolutely love pictures like that. You can almost believe your story has been brought to life, and there is no medium for life quite like traditional animation :3
This is (obviously) a scene from the story, and if you want to know what is happening you are going to have to read it >[link] Whisker is an awfully talented writer; you're highly encouraged to check out her other pieces!

is watered. When crossing over fences, carry water with you and tend the
grass wherever you may be."
Meadowsweet has a deformed hindleg. she's like that on purpose :3
'quite'? is there anything else I can improve on? I'm honestly asking, because I think it's one of my better pictures and I really like it, and I'm curious as to what you think could be better.

"I have seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that dogs think humans are nuts." -John Steinbeck
oh, well, that explains it all. Pardon my ignorance.
Umm... let's see... I was using 'quite' the same way i use 'very', so I didn't see much to work on. it's a cartoon, so it's bound to be simple and stylized. I can't find anything at the moment to imporve on...
thanks anyway! I was just curious, don't mind me :3 simple and stylised is just how I like it I guess xD as long as it works.

I agree, I love pictures which look like thier right from an animated movie. Like you say, it really feels nice seeing characters and stories all built up and brought to life.
Beautiful title as well.
I shall check out the story now, I'm curious. n_n
You know how I love your Hyksis style. To see these two together and to match them from the scene in the story its utterly beautiful. The simplicity of the two is wonderful, they do not need show-quality rendering, they are pure, simple and raw.
I admire Whisker for 'Sweets deformity, I think its a bold and fundamental statement on how society treats individuals with disablilities. I love 'Sweet for her personality and internal strength, I don't pity her. 'Sweet is strong for her brother and not for herself. Finding and accepting Alder into their company shows even more how 'Sweet is a carer.
Fantastic emotion to suit a phemominal story, congrats to you both!
