they say a fav is a compliment. I agree. when I fav something it has to either be something that moves me profoundly in any sense or something that some lovely person took the time to gift me with. or best of all, both. it's why I don't fav things overly often.
but honestly, when one is being watched by a bunch of silent people that just immediately favourite everything that one -- and a myriad of other artists -- upload seemingly without any sort of discrimination whatsoever, a +fav does not feel like such a damned special honour, okay?
don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the support my art and I get. but it would be nice to hear something from you silent people once in a while. ! dA for me isn't just a place to view art and click buttons over it if I like it, it's also a place to make friends with other people that are interested in the same things I am, people that I wouldn't otherwise get the chance to meet. that is why I value comments so much, much more than favs. they are communication. they make people more than just art-machines.
feel free to agree or disagree with me. my opinion's not changing.
I agree, it's nice to hear what others think of your work and see it in their own words rather than a 'so and so has added such and such to their favorites'.
Totally agree. Although I'm not the type to fav everything an artist does unless I just find it all to be just that good. (There are a few out there that I just enjoy that much...)
Wow, I agree completely with that. I get a bunch of random, silent people faving my stuff, and it's usually just the same old people commenting (not that I'm complaining about that xD They usually all leave awesome comments) but sometimes I wish I got more comments.
I totally agree and was actually thinking of making a stamp like this o_o Mostly, I try to comment on everything I watch, but sometimes I feel like I'm being annoying. But I definitely have a few watchers that just Fav EVERYTHING I upload.
I agree with you, and if it's alright, I'll put it in my journal :3

I agree. I typically comment when I can think of something to say. That's why when I changed accounts I didn't give my account to some people. Most of my old watcher were silent and just faved or they were silent and never came around. It got really annoying.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
