they say a fav is a compliment. I agree. when I fav something it has to either be something that moves me profoundly in any sense or something that some lovely person took the time to gift me with. or best of all, both. it's why I don't fav things overly often.
but honestly, when one is being watched by a bunch of silent people that just immediately favourite everything that one -- and a myriad of other artists -- upload seemingly without any sort of discrimination whatsoever, a +fav does not feel like such a damned special honour, okay? don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the support my art and I get. but it would be nice to hear something from you silent people once in a while.  ! dA for me isn't just a place to view art and click buttons over it if I like it, it's also a place to make friends with other people that are interested in the same things I am, people that I wouldn't otherwise get the chance to meet. that is why I value comments so much, much more than favs. they are communication. they make people more than just art-machines.feel free to agree or disagree with me. my opinion's not changing. |
